Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with leukemia or non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or any other type of cancer? Do you suspect Roundup could be the cause? If so, you might have a case against Monsanto.
Currently, there are tens of thousands of lawsuits being filed against Monsanto alleging the company’s glyphosate-based weed killer Roundup causes cancer. So far, juries have awarded million-and-billion-dollar verdicts to plaintiffs.
One jury awarded a California couple $2 billion after determining that Roundup contributed to the couple’s cancer diagnoses. Both plaintiffs were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma just four years apart. They used Roundup for twenty years to fend off weeds in their driveway.
Roundup cancer symptoms and side effects
Exposure to glyphosate and the other chemicals in Roundup can cause multiple, serious symptoms like:
If you’ve experienced any of the above symptoms after using Roundup, see your doctor right away for treatment.
Class action lawsuits allege Monsanto knew about the Roundup cancer connection
Recently publicized internal emails dubbed “the Monsanto papers” show that Monsanto knew glyphosate causes cancer and hid this information from the public. In light of these emails being made public, thousands of people are filing class action and individual personal injury lawsuits against Monsanto.
In 2017, six people from different states joined together to file the first class action lawsuit against Monsanto. The lawsuit accuses Monsanto of misrepresenting Roundup’s effects on plants, humans, and animals.
Monsanto claims Roundup interferes with an enzyme only found in plants, and that enzyme is not found in people or pets. The class action lawsuit claims this statement is false because humans do have this enzyme.
The enzyme in question is 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP) and regulates aromatic amino acid formation in the human gut, mucous membranes, and the skin. Roundup is specifically designed to destroy the functionality of this particular enzyme. The result of destroying this enzyme in humans is cancer.
Glyphosate was declared a probable carcinogen in 2015
Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Roundup and hundreds of additional weed killer products sold worldwide. In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) declared glyphosate a “probable human carcinogen” in an official report released to the public.
One of the secret Monsanto documents shows that they had a “preparedness and engagement plan” for discrediting the IARC in an effort to “protect the reputation” or Roundup and “prevent unfounded claims from becoming popular opinion.”
Monsanto even went as far as planning to destroy the reputation of journalist Carey Gillam. After exposing the corruption in a book titled Whitewash – The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science, Monsanto came up with a plan to destroy her reputation and suppress her website from coming up in search results.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer, including leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, thymic lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, or any other form of lymphoma, you might qualify for a settlement.
